NVCA
is the leading public policy advocate for the venture capital
and private equity communities. NVCA works with all branches of
government, the media and organizations nationwide to foster a
better understanding of how entrepreneurship and venture capital

the only Political Action Committee working solely for the venture

NVCA's professional development programs are designed to enhance

the Association collects and publishes quarterly venture industry
statistics. All NVCA members who participate in the quarterly

Public Relations
NVCA serves as a united voice for the venture capital industry
and works with the media on a regular basis throughout the United
States. NVCA's spokespersons program facilitates introductions

Partnership
with the Venture Capital/Private Equity Office Managers Association
(VCOMA)
VCOMA is a nationwide Association of Office Managers in the Venture
Capital/Private Equity industry. VCOMA brings together office
managers who support the private equity industry to share ideas,
resources, and information. VCOMA members also receive discounts
from many vendors that private equity firms purchase products
and services from on a regular basis. All NVCA Member firms are
eligible for one free membership in VCOMA. Additional memberships

Interest Groups
Medical Industry Group
The NVCA Medical Industry Group addresses the
unique needs of life science venture investors. Membership
is open to all NVCA members who actively invest in the medical
industry including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology,
and healthcare services. The NVCA Medical Industry Group
facilitates working with policymakers, trade advocacy groups,
portfolio companies and patient organizations to ensure
that public policies are rational, efficient, well administered
and result in high quality medical technology that is widely
available to the U.S. public. In addition to legislative
and regulatory activities, the Group is committed to gathering
and disseminating high quality information about life science
investing and its positive impact on patient care and the

Corporate Venture Group
The NVCA Corporate Venture Group (CVG) works
to fulfill the information, education, and networking needs
of corporations, enabling them to accelerate the progress
of innovation and growth through successful strategic venturing.

NVCA CFO Task Force is comprised of venture firm

Strategic Communications Group
The Strategic Communications Group was formed
to enhance the overall effectiveness of the venture capital
industry's communications and to assist NVCA members in

Legal Roundtable
The NVCA facilitates gatherings of general counsels
and others who are responsible for the legal function within
a venture firm in order to foster sharing of best practices
and to discuss the legal challenges associated with operating
a venture firm. NVCA's Model Legal Documents is one result

Capital Forum
Compensation trends, best practices, technology solutions

Cleantech
Advisory Council
The NVCA formed the Cleantech Council in 2006 in order to
create a national working group that can identify regulatory
and legislative issues critical to the development and commercialization
of new Cleantech technologies. The "Council" helps
formulate NVCA's policy agenda in the Cleantech arena and
is working to accelerate the growth of this emerging venture
segment. The "Council" is open to NVCA Members
who are actively investing in cleantech companies. For more
